The Coconut Acts as a Healing Ingredient

Palm Trees. There are different varieties, but the one we are most familiar with is the coconut palm. They are beautiful icons of tropical vacation destinations.  But, the coconut isn’t just a pretty face. Touted as a superfood, the oil of the coconut is often used as a medicine or healing ingredient.

When you crack open a coconut, the meat inside is known as the fruit of the coconut. While many have known the importance of this fruit, western civilization is just starting to discover its importance.

Hearty Naturals coconut oil is cold-pressed, virgin coconut oil. The all-natural coconut oil is often used to aid in many health conditions including diabetes, Crohns and IBS and thyroid conditions. It can help with the skin or even boost the immune system. The medium chain saturated fats or triglycerides (MCT) in coconut oil seem to work differently than other saturated fats. The coconut can fight off viruses and boost the immune system. Dr. Oz shares the surprising benefits of coconut oil.

Coconut oil has also been shown to affect hormone levels, which can aid in thyroid conditions and blood-sugar control, making it an excellent replacement fat/protein for diabetics. The boost given to the thyroid can increase metabolism and aid in weight loss.

Try replacing your regular oil and shortening with coconut oil when baking. It works well in desserts such as cookies, zucchini bread, and smoothies. Add it to your oatmeal for a creamy breakfast boost.
