Coconut oil can be an important part of your post-holiday recovery!

Hope you had a wonderful holiday! As you prepare to head back to work, bounce back from that food-induced coma, and deal with the often inevitable post-holiday slump, we have FIVE tips for you:

1) Drink water. Staying hydrated keeps your body in a much healthier state, keeps your digestive tract moving more smoothly, and is good for your skin.

2) Include Coconut Oil. You won’t regret adding in coconut oil. You can take a couple of teaspoons in your coffee, tea, smoothie, or straight up. It can boost your metabolism and your immune system. Heavier foods can leave you feeling bloated and unwell – allow coconut oil (with a health diet) to help reverse that!

3) Choose rest. Nothing rejuvenates the mind and body like rest. Instead of squeezing in the last moments of the weekend awake, consider heading for bed an hour earlier. Perhaps take a nap or two during the weekend to prepare for the coming week.

4) Say no to sugar. Enjoy your holiday desserts on the holiday and maybe splurge a little the day after, but try saying no to anything beyond that. It can make a big difference in your energy levels and your overall outlook. Instead, try increasing your intake of vegetables and fruit! Choose an apple with cinnamon over a leftover piece of pie for that mid-afternoon snack attack.

5) Say yes to working out. Definitely head out for that run, participate in that yoga class, do that work out video, or go to the gym. You will like the way you feel after adding exercise into your holiday weekend! Releasing the adrenaline and getting your heart pumping will not only burn calories but will also help you to quickly recover from your holiday weekend of activity.
